Do you remember the game “Follow the Leader?” It involves one person leading their followers through a series of obstacles with the expectation that the followers do exactly what the leader does when they do it. Amazingly, the followers do their best to meet the leader’s expectations, even as the leader increases the difficulty and complexity of the tasks and obstacles they perform to intentionally throw off their followers. Any players who fail to follow or mimic the leader are out of the game. When only one follower remains, that player then becomes the new leader, and the game begins anew with all players joining the line once again. If only leadership were this easy.

Our speaker is organizational consultant, Dr. Jeff Doolittle. He is the author of “Life-changing Leadership Habits.” He will present on the ten proven principles that will elevate people, profit, and purpose. This is a great meeting for a guest, such as a prospective leader, a leader seeking to be a better leader, or someone who simply has no business leading human beings, but needs a clue about how to do it well should they be elevated into a leadership position by way of the Peter Principle.

Leadership

  1. "A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus."
    ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
  2. “Leadership is the intelligent use of power.”
    ~ Winston Churchill
  3. “A leader is best when people barely know he exists. When his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say, ‘We did it ourselves.’”
    ~ Lao Tzu
