The Grand Rapids Police Department’s stated mission is to protect life and property, prevent crime, and ensure all people feel safe and are safe at all times. Members must work with community leaders to provide fair and just services for all individuals and maintaining transparency and accountability in all of the activities of all the parts of the Department.

The Thin Blue Line is alive and well in Grand Rapids. Even though many of you live outside of Grand Rapids, the cooperation among police departments in Kent County functions well.

Our speaker is Eric Winstrom, Grand Rapids Chief of Police.

Invocation: Eric Nelson
Introduction: Paul Chardoul

Law Enforcement

  1. “A police officer pulled me over and said: “Papers?” I said: “Scissors, I win,” and drove off. He must have wanted a rematch because he has been chasing me for 45 minutes.”
  2. A police officer is driving down the freeway when he looks over and spots a granny knitting whilst balancing the steering wheel with her knees. He pulls alongside the granny, and angrily shouts "Pull over!" The granny shouts back, "No, it's a scarf"

On 31 January, our speaker is Bob Armbruster from www.Upcyclebikes.org
