WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2, 2022  –  7:15 a.m.

50 YEARS is small potatoes for many BC Members. We look back on the good, the bad, and what makes us continue to our respective finish lines. We look back on events over that period that made us proud to be members of the Greater Grand Rapids community. We look at one bright light that closed last year because of the horrible COVID situation. Now with maybe an end in sight we look forward to betting back outside to enjoy the Festival of the Arts!

Yes, we can hopefully return to art, theatre, dance, and music; events to be enjoyed by old and young; even those with deaf musical ears. We have invited Baird Hawkins, the Chairman of our Festival to divulge what changes he has in store for the more than 100,000 people who visit us and leave their cash with our non-profit Festival tents. Some have great memories of days gone by; Baird will give us a chance to renew those memories.

Invocator:  Mr. Eric Nelson
Introducer: James Booth Burr, Jr., Esq.

Enjoyment -  “People seem to enjoy things more when they know a lot of other people have been left out of the pleasure.” Russell Baker

Liberty -  “Liberty means responsibility; that is why most men dread it.”
George Bernard Shaw

COVID (less) - Life is not a fairy tale. If you lose your shoe at midnight, you’re drunk.
