WELCOME BACK TO THE UNIVERSITY CLUB!  We have invited James Gignac, Esq. to tell us about the Union of Concerned Scientists, thanks to Vince Schumacher, Esq.  Mr. Gignac works on and devotes much of his volunteer time to the intersection of sustainability and community.  His professional background is environmental law.  Through that he has evolved into expertise in a variety of clean energy and climate change issues.  Equally important to him is a sense of place and involvement in community-centered volunteer leadership.  This has led to a series of roles focused on healthy, productive local communities.  He did his undergrad work at Albion, and received his law degree from Harvard.  After clerking for the Alaska Supreme Court, he is now an Illinois assistant general dealing with the environment.

Enviro:  The workers at the inn aren't very friendly...they create a hostel environment.

Detailed Cleaning:  I asked a friend of mine by phone what he was doing. He told me he was working on "aqua-thermal treatment of ceramics, aluminum, and steel under a constrained environment."  I was impressed. In further conversation, I learned that he was "washing dishes with hot water under his wife's supervision."

Why are there no televised fights about the environment?  There’s too much GORE.
