One activity that helps us all during the COVID-19 pandemic is to open our minds (enough with the political ads already); learn something new (other than reading directions on a soup can); and see the magic of the Hauenstein Institute’s innovative programming.  Col. Ralph Hauenstein, one of Ike’s top WW2 aides, founded and funded the very successful Institute with GVSU.  To tell us about this year’s treats, we have invited three of their stellar staff: Acting Director Brent Holmes, and program leaders Grace Tummel and Jakob Bigard.  The Institute, working through GVSU, has all kinds of programs, lectures and events to take you mind off those horrible Medicare and political ads.  Hint: Yes, History Prof. Extraordinaire Bill Brands will be involved!

COVID-19:

1. After all that we have been through, the only thing worse is that the vaccine will only be available in suppository form,
2. Never thought my hands would one day consume more alcohol than my liver.
3. To all the ladies that were praying for their husbands to spend more time with them …. How are you doing?
4. In just two weeks we will hear if there are still two more weeks to let us know that two more weeks of quarantine are needed.
