Many of us, especially the members of the Seniors Table, have been transfixed and numb watching and reading about the hooligans destroying the United States.  We understand that this is or ought to be permissible because of the death of public citizen George Floyd – this stalwart character who had no less than nine criminal offenses in Texas, running from aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon to delivery and possession of drugs. Certainly the police, as we know it today, had no right to choke him.  Where are we at in Kent County with future “peaceful demonstrations” and possible statuary coming down (Let’s protect John Ball!), and these ad hoc ways of remembering Noble George?  And let’s not forget this campaign to unfund the police departments.  We have invited Kent County Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young to let us know what precautions the County is taking and maybe some idea when this madness might end.

Invocator:   James Booth Burr, Jr., Esq.

Introducer:  James Booth Burr, Jr., Esq.

The Virus:

(1)  Let me get this straight: there’s no cure for a virus that can KILLED by a sanitizer and hand soap?

 (2)  Is it too early to put up the Christmas tree yet?  I have run out of things to do.

(3)  Day 7 of SOCIAL DISTANCING: struck up a conversation with a spider today.  Seems nice.  He’s a web designer.

(4)  Things are getting weird.  It’s like being 16 again: gas is dirt cheap and I’m grounded.
