What does it take to start a K-12 private school in competition with tax supported education?  The Potter's House was incorporated in 1981 to encompass teens and youngsters in the Roosevelt Park (Grandville and Clyde Park) area.  Young Calvin grads took on a mission to raise the millions needed, set up an administration, and hired what they consider to be first rate teachers.  The prospective students: abundantly "minority."  We have invited Steve Dyer, marketing and communications director, to tell us how The Potter's House handles nearly 600 kids, runs a school system, and has an active foundation.  A great program for all of us interested in educating children.

Invocators:   Mr. Rick Sturim and Ms. Harriet Sturim (D-Day)

Introducer:  Vincent Schumacher, Esq.

From the Head Table:  I can't believe how old people my age are.

Paraprosdokian:   Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the  street with a bald head and a beer gut and still they are sexy.
