Stephanie Adams - Executive Director of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks

Friends of Grand Rapids Parks was founded about 10 years ago to help us connect with nature and offer a virtual playground.  Parks: a great spot for our pooches; a place to walk or run without commercial interruption; a spot to really see the seasons change.  Many of our fellow citizens do not have back yards or safe places for our children and elderly.  Our parks help to solve this concern.  We have invited Stephanie Adams, the executive director of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks.  She is an avid outdoor enthusiast and lover of nature.  She and her team are focused on empowering people to cultivate vibrant parks, green spaces, and plant trees in the Grand Rapids community -  partner with the City’s Parks Department.  A time to invite that favorite naturalist of yours as a guest.

Invocator:    Mr. Keith D. Vandercook

Introducer:    James Booth Burr, Jr., Esq.

Tree(s):   “I think that I shall never see, a billboard lovely as a tree.  Indeed, unless the billboard falls, I’ll never see a tree at all.”  Ogden Nash (with suitable apologizes to Ms. Kilmer)

Paraprosdokian.  Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.
